Hi Folks, here’s a quick update as to what’s happening with Sunday Services in September. I will update this page whenever we have something new to tell you, so please do check back regularly.

On Sunday September 6th, there was a preview event for Church Board members to trial holding services with a congregation. This went well and the subsequent Board meeting a full review of re-opening plans and of our risk assessment was undertaken in preparation for general re-opening.
We now plan to start trial worship services with a congregation from Sunday September 20th. Please note that numbers will be strictly limited in line with government Covid-19 restrictions and in compliance with our own risk assessment. Initially this will be 24 worshippers, plus Erica and any support people (e.g. AV team, Stewards). Watch this space for more info next week, but meantime please do not attend unless you have either been invited or have secured a ticket from our booking system.
Because we will have a ‘live’ congregation from the 20th it seems likely that we will, unfortunately, not be able to continue to hold our usual ‘after-church fellowship’ zoom meeting going forward. We will, however, hold it this Sunday – 13th September. After that we will have to see how things go as things develop.
We plan to continue to live-stream all services for the foreseeable future (possibly permanently) because we will have limited capacity in the church with the necessary social-distancing arrangements and other government restrictions, which means not everyone will be able to attend every week. To that end we have been setting-up a new AV station and cameras to facilitate future service streaming.
So, in summary:
- Sunday 6th September: 10:30am – Preview service held for Board Members only. Live-streamed via usual channels.
- Sunday 13th September: On-line live-stream only. New Series on Malachi (The true experience of God’s Love). After Church Fellowship on zoom.
- Sunday 20th September: 10:30am – First trial general worship service (Giving our Best)- ticket only, limited numbers. Live-streamed as usual. After-church fellowship to be decided. See below for tickets, available from 14th Sept at 12:00 noon, or call Naomi in the office.
- Sunday 27th September: 10:30am – Worship Service (Harvest) – ticket only. Live-streamed.
A full briefing document is in preparation and will be available by next weekend, but I can tell you that you will need to book to attend so that we can manage capacity. You can book your ticket on our website at www.watfordnazarene.org.uk/bookings/ from Monday at 12 noon.
Anyway, that’s it for now. We have a little light at the end of the tunnel, but it won’t quite be church as we know it. More details about that soon.
